Impressively Scotland RL have qualified for the World Cup next year by only losing 18-16 to Wales in Glasgow, and thus going through on points difference after their 21-14 win in Bridgend last year. Now Wales must beat Lebanon and then either USA or Samoa to qualify - quite a come-down after leading Australia after half an hour in the semi-final last time round.
In other news Edinburgh Mavericks suffered their first defeat in the Scottish Korfball League, after losing 10-7 to St Andrews 1. We beat St Andrews 2 7-1 however and remain top of the table.
