Feels like I've not posted for years! This is me visiting my mum-bored witless in general, but at least we can have a good chat when her bloke's gone to bed which is really fun.

We are surprisingly alike, apart from I just try to push my life a little further on than she has, for many reasons in some ways, although she's beaten me in many things too!

Can't wait to get to my dad's place and to see my (step) sisters, and to go out and see old friends from when this used to be my domain...hopefully there will be quite a few people in the one remaining pub...

I'm very much looking forward to getting back ro Edinburgh too, although I really don't know what to do for Hogmanay. I feel in some ways like getting hammered and doing the anonymous chatting/snogging thing, but at the moment I feel like spending it quietly with close friends, and really having a satisfyingly nice night. Then I get paranoid, thinking that my friends aren't really that close, a product if my general aloofness. I sometimes wish I was more emotionally engaging, and wasn't worried about the loneliness of the group celebration...I want a big cuddle!

Oh god, mum and bloke are having big discussion...I don't want to be there, especially since they're both drunk, and I know the subject! Think I'll stay here for a while. See you soon.

I wouldn't want to try to compete with Jens party, but I'll also be having people here as I can't leave the flat. There will be a mix of friends who I think you might enjoy talking to, but certainly nothing heavy.

I will be looking for cuddles myself, so I'll be trying to arrange huggable women to attend.
