Let's not forget that the Holyrood might still be alright after tonight!

exactly!

yeah - it has been looked at as the closing of the Tavern, but the new owners might not want to change anything and even of they do change it a bit - is it necessarily a bad thing?

Who knows!

yeah, but the new owners of the cauldron claimed to not want to change anything, and, well, that pub went down the tubes a bit, eh? It'd be nice if it was fine afterwards, but taking the pessimistic view means you're not going to be unpleasantly surprised.

I've been here 2 years - therefore don't know about the whole cauldron thing

nothing can be done about it anyway.

That's my mian worry - the Cauldron ostensibly stayed the same, except that the new management let all the idiots in that had previously been barred, and within a few months any decent person really didn't want to go in any more.

I have heard it's being taken over by an ex-hibs-casual, who owns about 4 other pubs in edinburgh, and will almost certainly do it up, and it will most likely not be an "alternative-friendly" pub anymore.

Mark was saying that he doesn't have any other pubs, although he has certainly been described in terms of being a bit of a schemie...
