Where the hell sells pineapple jelly?

[identity profile] cheekbones3.livejournal.com 2004-12-21 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Too far away. Will have to go to the big Savacentre down the road.

The big what? :os You could just eat pineapple from the tin! Yum *fantasises about tinned pineapple chunks*

Rowntrees = Nestle = Bad

[identity profile] cheekbones3.livejournal.com 2004-12-21 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Aye but nobody sells it...

[identity profile] dominatrix-vamp.livejournal.com 2004-12-21 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
if its really important take the 31 to tesco in corstorphine... or laus work

[identity profile] cheekbones3.livejournal.com 2004-12-21 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Or what?

Hopefully there'll be some at Cameron Toll.

[identity profile] bunnyphone.livejournal.com 2004-12-21 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Tesco no?

Try Kamco maybe? They have more than you think

[identity profile] cheekbones3.livejournal.com 2004-12-21 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
None of the shops on that road. And most of the ones in Kamco are ripped open anyway.

[identity profile] talkymeat.livejournal.com 2004-12-21 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Alternatively get pineapple juice, gelatine (or other gelling agent is yer a veggie) and sugar. You should be able to get a generic home-made jelly recipe off the web.

[identity profile] cheekbones3.livejournal.com 2004-12-21 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Aye that's my last resort...

[identity profile] kymara.livejournal.com 2005-01-04 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
afaik pineapple has an enzyme in which stops gelatine from setting it, so homemade pineapple jelly invairably fails. I could have the wrong fruit, though, my memory's hazy...

[identity profile] cheekbones3.livejournal.com 2005-01-04 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
You might be right - that certainly sounds familiar. Things all turned out fine in the end however!

[identity profile] cheekbones3.livejournal.com 2005-01-04 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Mind if I friend you by the way? I don't have enough physicists on my list...I miss my days up at the observatory!

[identity profile] cheekbones3.livejournal.com 2005-01-04 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
And have you found any monopoles yet? :O)

(sorry I'll stop spamming you now...)

[identity profile] kymara.livejournal.com 2005-01-06 12:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, I'm a mathematician, not a physicist! I just went to a conference on particle theory, and the experimentalist who gave a seminar essentially said 'we've produced no new results this year, and don't trust us.' I ask you.

I don't need to find monopoles, I imagine them via pen and paper. All good fun. But I'm mainly on Skyrmions at the moment. Oh and yes you can friend me. I'll friend you too.

[identity profile] cheekbones3.livejournal.com 2005-01-06 03:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Now Skyrmions are something I've never heard of.

After a brief pause, I've read something about them, and it just sounds like an easy way to do maths on classical nucleic arrangements, although the stuff I read was building on mental quicksand effectively! I'm much clearer on individual particles and their properties as opposed to group movements, which is a whole new way of thinking for me...

I'm supposed to be resting right now (visiting my mum at the moment), but I seem to be doing more academic thinking than I've done for years, which the philosophy stuff I've been getting into... Probably good for me instead of playing poker all day though. And thanks for friending me, I feel my existence is slightly more useful now :O)
