Back from Durham - sounded like the roof was going to get blown off my mum's house last night, and most trains seemed to be cancelled today. By hook or by crook I made it to Newcastle, where I boarded a Virgin train which was perversely not cancelled and also running on time. I therefore arrived about two hours late, which isn't too bad. I've never seen the Tweed so high, and we went into a lovely hailstorm while going along a cliff, and there was a nice rainbow at the leading edge of the hail, and the sea was looking pretty wild below us.
