As observed by [livejournal.com profile] luckylove, pop-ups now seem to be sneaking past the defences of Firefox, which is rather tedious to say the least. Must be some sort of double-link clicking or something? Any geeks know anything about this?

Get flash block: http://flashblock.mozdev.org/

AdBlock is also good: http://adblock.mozdev.org/

Or instead of installing multiple http filters/blockers, get one universal filter. Google for Proxomitron. It's not install-and-forget like most blockers, but with a little attention it makes browsing way easier and faster. Will put up a proper post with info and links tonight.
