You see, I've said Bourbons because I think they may be objectively a king among biscuits, but there will always be a place in this world for the humble digestive. Ditto Fox's Crunch, and cookies.... and most of them actually. There's one for every occasion!

Ooh, Choco Leibniz are a bit special too. Actually, one of my favourites is suprisingly from Asda, digestives with chocolate chips. The satisfying texture and non-crumble factor of the digestive, with the chocolate fix of the cookie, genius!

Aye - Sainsbury's have a similar type of choc-chip digestive too which is excellent. Trouble is with cheaper biscuits, they do unpleasant things to my insides...

Oooo.. I'm a fan of biscuits in a big way. There's not a photo without a biscuit in my hand when I was a baby :x Oh, and tea with honey in it!

Bourbons are my all time favourite. But I do love to munch on a digestive mm. There's nothing like that flavour.

I like Digestives because I can eat them in one bite :O)

[identity profile] lyra.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 03:41 pm (UTC)(link)
:O you must have a big mouth hehe

I don't think I've ever had a fig roll. They never look very nice.
I hate custard creams.

There's a technique to pul half in then break it with the tongue so the rest can be folded in! Practised over many years :O)

Digestives

Have any of you noticed a change in the Digestive biscuit recently? I've noticed it doesn't crumble like it used to and now resembles a rich tea?

Re: Digestives

I just tried one and it appears that the design has changed a bit, but the flavour and texture seem to be the same!

No Oreos?

Tut tut. Mind you, I put garibaldi as my 'other' suggestion.

Hmmm. Oreos or garibaldi. Oreos or garibaldi. Daddy or chips...

[identity profile] cheekbones3.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 03:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure I know Oreos. I've seen Garibaldi, but can't remember if I've et them or not...

[identity profile] stealthdj.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Oreos are great. American, but some of the little shops along south clerk st. sell them.

Garibaldi - hard to explain, kind of flat pastry and raisins... ("Fly biscuits") :0)

[identity profile] cheekbones3.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 03:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah yes now I remember! They aren't too bad.

[identity profile] aliiis.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh gosh yes, Oreos are awesome. Not a dunking biscuit though. They sold them in Farmfoods last time I was there! (Yeah, classy, I know!)

[identity profile] stealthdj.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 03:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe not specifically a dunking biscuit, but TGI fridays sell a cocktail with fresh cream and floating oreos. Forget what it's called now...

[identity profile] aliiis.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
:Z Eeerrrrgh!! That sounds so wrong. Have you had one?! If I named it it would be definitely called the Cosmovomitan, je pense.

[identity profile] stealthdj.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 03:33 pm (UTC)(link)
From their menu:

Barnamint Baileys
A creamy cocktail made with Baileys Irish Cream and creme de menthe blended with vanilla ice cream and Oreo cookie sprinkles.

(It does also usually have a whole oreo in it too)

There's also a desert called 'oreo madness' that's two giant oreos with ice cream and chocolate sauce :)

[identity profile] margeryk.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 03:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Farmfoods? Haven't shopped there since being a fresher *shudders*.

Now they sell something decent and I don't know if we have Farmfoods in Cumbria!!

[identity profile] luckylove.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Plain chocolate Rich Tea biscuits are the best but I can't find them anymore. *sniff sniff*

[identity profile] cheekbones3.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm...I'm not convinced...never seen them either!

[identity profile] luckylove.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 06:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Safeways used to have them but I haven't seen them in ages.

[identity profile] tshirtsuntan.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] cheekbones3.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 05:31 pm (UTC)(link)

Well for what purpose silly.

You know somebody actually managed to justify a study to find the most dunkable buscuit. I mean sure, research costs are gonna be like £5.49 and major funding proposals were likely unnecessary but still :)

[identity profile] cheekbones3.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Eating of course!

Great publicity for their department, and a great excuse to do sod all all day!

[identity profile] angelevie.livejournal.com 2005-03-10 04:17 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] cheekbones3.livejournal.com 2005-03-10 04:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I did know that actually :O)

Never met anyone that likes Fig Rolls though!

[identity profile] angelevie.livejournal.com 2005-03-10 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
ooo they are yummy - remind me of fresh dates too - I know tis off topic a little but they are lush - not the crappy caramelised ones but good fresh ones - they are like little bits of natures toffee

[identity profile] cheekbones3.livejournal.com 2005-03-10 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
