You're 94% Surname Savvy!

The higher the percentage score you receive, the more knowledgeable you
are about world surname origins. If your score is below 25%, you may
like to consider taking a more active interest in other cultures and
geography in general ;). If you get above 75%, you're either extremely
lucky or a professional surname etymologist :D.

So... you're a professional then?

[identity profile] cheekbones3.livejournal.com 2005-05-05 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe I just expected it to be more difficult! There were one or two I wasn't sure about, and I obviously guessed wrongly...

it was quite easy, i mean some of the palces i'd never heard of, but i still managed a respectable score

[identity profile] cheekbones3.livejournal.com 2005-05-05 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Aye, most of them could be easily worked out from the letters.

68% for moi.
I need to brush up on my 'people who live in the arse end of nowhere' last names it seems.

[identity profile] cheekbones3.livejournal.com 2005-05-05 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
Indeed! I thought most of them were dead obvious!

[identity profile] andabusers.livejournal.com 2005-05-04 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I got 85%. It might help that I have a foreign last name.

Snap! 94%

I wonder - did we get the same two wrong?

(Garcia as Spanish not Uruguyan - could be either, I think - and the Nigerian/Egyptian choice for a name I'm now blanking on)

I went for Egyptian for that one, and I assumed that Nguyen was Chinese, although I thought it might be Vietnamese...I also missed the Garcia choice, having stopped at the obvious!

I want to know which I got wrong!

I think one of them had a choice between Spain and Uruguay which is just silly, and I got an oriental one wrong I think...
