Just went to see Sin City, partly because it was a Rodriguez effort, but also because it gave me an excuse to spend time with the lovely [livejournal.com profile] rainstorm who hides in the countryside too much for my liking. The film? Well, pretty much all the clichés you'd expect in that sort of fantasy world - big titted prostitutes not wearing much, hard men with big guns and amazing ways of avoiding death, and cars flying about. And a bunch of renegade IRA men apparently! All in all, who needs real life stories if you can make that up? Don't think I could be bothered reading that sort of thing though. Anyway, off to make a smoothie before I slog myself out to Heriot-Watt for the afternoon.

"And a bunch of renegade IRA men apparently!"

Yeah, I have no idea if that's in the graphic novels but it seemed a tad politically incorrect, though I assume very much tongue in cheek. Ickle Jordi's mouth was gaping open at all the bare flesh for most of the film, hehe :-)

Is your trip to Heriot-Watt PhD related? Good luck if so...

And that was just you and Elaine!

You should have kept your shirt on Jordi!

Sometimes, I just can't help myself

Yes, the bare flesh certainly was rather impressive!

It was for an informal chat about the PhD - I'm now buggered as I cycled there and back - the hill up to Currie is sodding long and high! Sounds quite interesting, although whether I'll qualify for funding is another matter. We'll see. Thanks :)

Are you as purple as when you finished the 10K? ;-)
*fingers crossed even though he may be a scabby student again soon*
NB: Lorraine may be a student but will never be scabby ;-)

Nah I'm fine now actually - just weak in the legs! I never get that purple when I'm cycling!

There's nowt wrong wi' being a scabby student, and I'm sure Lorraine would just cover the scabs with make-up, creating the illusion of non-scabbiness :P

Someone's sleeping on a scabby couch tonight ;-)

I'd say so - very impressive looking film. I think you'd like it!
