So...two British "troops" in local mufti try to avoid being stopped at an Iraqi checkpoint, are found to have a bootful of weaponry, and are held at an Iraqi prison despite severe British military muscle-flexing are busted out of said prison by British forces demolishing a wall with tanks, also allowing numerous prisoners to escape? What the fuck is so important about them that causes us to do such an apparently ridiculous and inflammatory thing? Never mind forces opening fire on local protesters. The MOD is denying this, and the wall was knocked down accidently apparently. Stranger and stranger.

Yeah - an almost exactly parallel case was the car with two soldiers in mufti that managed to get tangled up in an IRA funeral: the two soldiers were dragged out and killed.
