Journal deletion day, for what it's worth

A proposal, which I doubt will make a blind bit of difference to the high heid-yins and their advertising bumph, but is interesting all the same.

On a similar vein, I'm going to post a few of my favourite bits from a spare journal I have and have let go dusty and unused again. Just a mish-mash of silliness from me, a little poetry, and, erm, that's it really:

The deific mill, hewn of ash. Eternally grinds, ever round we dash.

Badger, badger, burning bright,
In the gardens of the night.
Furry humbug are not thee?
Minty tasting your bottom be.

If you must split an infinitive, use an expletive to do it.

In these days of bird 'flu:
Beware the cock!

Never store your toaster on top of the cooker for convenience, it will only get melted by someone using the grill to make toast.

 I think, therefore I am a philosopher.

Three times a lady? Maybe an operation is called for.

That's enough now. Ed.

Funny how the ads thing has been blown all out of proportion and how badly wrong so many people have got it...

To my mind it seems that all the effort taken to introduce ads into the site and to defend their presence just isn't worth the effort for Six Apart. On the other hand, people seem surprisingly up in arms about it too, although personally I see it as part of a greater sort of feature-creep which takes LJ away from what it originally entailed.
