That was a nice Christmas.

Got up at a relaxed hour, put some washing up to dry and played poker for a couple of hours. Can't think I did much else at all apart from listen to the festive radio, which was nice.

Thence to the Hoose, where I and [livejournal.com profile] purelyskindeep gorged ourselves on too much very nice food. The soup was chestnut and something else I've never et with a bit of chili oil, and was excellent. Main meal, perfectly trad turkey stuff, which is exactly what I wanted, and Christmas pudding and custard to finish, again, just the ticket. I then felt rather full, as along with the food went a couple of nice pints of Orkney's seasonal offering and a gin and tonic.

As soon as I could walk, I waddled of to the abode of [livejournal.com profile] peerietrows who plied us with tea and sweeties and cake, which I eventually accepted. We watched Dr.Who, and after some debate, Breakfast At Tiffany's was thankfully chosen for viewing ahead of The Nightmare Before Christmas, neither of which I'd seen before, only one of which I wanted to see. Holly is very sweet in it, and I was surprised as I was expecting a miserable ending! Her flatmates are nice too, and I walked home with the bloke who wasn't a flatmate, whose name escapes me, and we talked of accents, jobs and such. I was also loaded up with enough food to have the traditional Boxing Day cold poultry and veg dinner. That will be the last time I eat this year.

I am now happily back in the flat, the fourth test has just started, and I'm going to listen to the first session if I can stay awake that long, as all this food has filled me with a strange desire for sleep. A good day, all told.

Good to hear a good Christmas day has been had. I ate so much too that I fell asleep for 4 hours at 8:30. I haven't been to the pub in ages but I've heard about Ian's cooking being glorified so often that it's now on my to do list for January to go in and sample some yummy delights :D

Aye, you'll probably have to try something off the specials board to appreciate him, but he is indeed good.
