More nonsense

So, why can we remonstrate and demonstrate when it appears impossible to monstrate in the first place? Such things make me slightly less gruntled than I was. Maybe.

I love the word 'gruntled' and am on a personal crusade to bring it back into common usage. :)

[identity profile] cheekbones3.livejournal.com 2007-04-04 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Was it ever in common usage?

[identity profile] sharmaya.livejournal.com 2007-04-05 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
That's not the issue. It should be in common usage, I agree with Tina. :)

Reminds me of when I was younger - my Dad used to say things like "my dis has never been so gruntled", or "my flabber has never been so ghasted!" *laughs*

Well, perhaps not, but I did find it in a dictionary at some point so I figured it must have been in usage at some point, even if not terribly commonly.

I just looked it up, and it's just given as derived from disgruntled.

How about learning to fenestrate?

[identity profile] cheekbones3.livejournal.com 2007-04-05 03:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Now that would be some skill!
