(no subject)

Well I stuffed up my promotion interview as expected. Will get another chance later this year I'm sure, and I'll find out next week how crap I was! At least I sampled three types of beer this evening to make sure that such disappointment was drowned (or at least discomfited) for the moment.

Hopefully next time I'll be better prepared with my script. Competency interviews are annoying! I can do the bloody job :o)

You just need to learn to sell yourself as such :)

Competency based questions are a bastard because they follow a specific 'HR logic' - you have to push the buttons they are looking for.

If you want, I can take you through some of the information I have on them from working for the Evil Empire. Pretty much all their interviews are competency-based.

Any info would be useful I'm sure. Cheers!

I have a second one next week - I'm hoping it goes a bit better than this week's!

Maybe you'll be more used to the pressure...

Aww sorry to hear that. :(

I don't know about you but I've always struggled to conform to what you know they expect from you in interviews. It feels icky and false. Principles are expensive things to keep.

For me it's more that the pressure disconnects my brain, so I can't then get my examples out properly...

Dude, sorry to hear that.
