I'm due to cycle to work in about seven hours. I can't decide whether tyres go through snow better when fully pumped up or not. Tell you later...

Assuming the same principle works on bike tyres as car tyres - then they should be left as normal, or over-inflated, to help them cut through the snow to get to the road.

Slush or thin snow - Pumped up to cut through to the road.
Ice or pack snow - deflated a little to increase surface area.

For some reason LJ is warning me this isn't appropriate content for minors. Something to do with the phrase "fully pumped" perhaps?
