Yay I got woken by the rain at 4:30 this morning-that's the first time in ages, and it really was absolutely tipping it down. I've heard there are roads just near Tollcross closed by floods...

wow, the exact same thing here happened at around the same time of the morning, two mornings ago.....and was accompanied by very large claps of very close thunder.

Lucky you! We almost never get thunder in this city-must be something to do with the geology of the area or something, because back home in Yorkshire there are loads of storms!

Have you ever had lightning so close that you woke up before it had stopped discharging? I remember once being on holiday, and there was a crack of lightning right outside our room, and I was sat bolt upright in bed while the room was still lit up-I was very impressed! After I'd recovered from the shock anyway...

not fair! I want to see I tornado...in fact I'd quite like to be a stormchaser...well maybe anyway, if I had a better image of stormchasers...

ooh, i dunno about tornadoes. they don't happen as often here - texas and out in the southwest....or hell, in kansas is good for that. then again, i don't think kansas is good for much else.

each year when it gets closer to september, i start feeling the edinburgh urge. i must find a way to visit there sometime soon.

Yes so I noticed! Well done on getting the tickets-I hope things come together for the trip! Shame you aren't nipping up to Scotland though!

i know. maybe next time. a couple of old college friends live out near bath, so seeing them for a few days is necessary (and much wanted), and Tim's got this thing with Ireland. so once i surprise him and know with certainty that he can go (don't know why he wouldn't) i'm going to try to find a way to get over to ireland for about a week. hopefully, hopefully.....
if it were a suprise trip for me, though, i'd want it to include scotland. :)

Mind you, looking at the weather today, I don't know if you'd want to bother! I suppose London's been just as flooded as anywhere else this summer though!
