(no subject)

Time to welcome another poor unfortunate who's decided to read the selected contents of my life...hello katythemoose - I know you live in Reading, but you sound interesting all the same!

In other news, I had an audition for some crappy Chris Evans-invented game show which is going to appear on Channel 4 next year, the incentive being the £100k per episode prize! I'll show myself up with a bunch of trendies for that sort of money any day! Needless to say I felt a bit out of place when they were all talking about Big Brother etc etc in the interviews, although they were interesting people otherwise, a model, a performance artiste, and a drum&bass fixated student. Yes I am being kind in saying they were interesting-I have to stop being so Judgemental!

Anyway, I'm at uni, and it's time to go and by choccy to enliven my ham sarnies. bye bye!

Damn, now I'm going to have to try really hard to be interesting.
Oh the pressure!
:P

How did you arrive at me anyway?

I was looking for people who came from Scotland because I used to live in Leith, and you were also on another of my friend's friends lists. And you seem pretty interesting yourself.

WEll thanks very much...so where do you prefer - Reading or Edinburgh?

[identity profile] katythemoose.livejournal.com 2002-11-05 03:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Reading is a good lace to grow up, but the proportion of trendies to normal people is v bad. Edinburgh has members of extended family and culture but rain. Lots of rain.
So it evens out :P

Hmmm...I wouldn't say it was that wet-don't ever live in the west!

It rains every time I go up there. Maybe it is me. Damn!
I'm conveniently forgetting that everywhere in Britain is rainy.

Indeed you are-anyway, from what I saw of Reading when I was there recently, I'd rather be somewhere wet...

Oi! It's surely not that bad. Ok, maybe there is only 3 clubs/pubs that play decent music. But it is only about a fifth of the size of Edinburgh, and there is a massive festival down the road, meaning I heard the strains of Nirvana from my back garden when I was about 9.

Aye fair enough, but I only saw the town centre, and I suppose it's the same as any other town centre...I was only down for a day to see the uni anyway. I'm sure I could cope with living there for a wee while...

[identity profile] katythemoose.livejournal.com 2002-11-05 03:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't really know why I'm extolling the virtues of Reading, I'm gonna get out of here as soon as I can. Hoorah for studentdom!

I'm heading for Kings College London, just because I love London, and the course sounds ideal. Other than that, Cardiff, Bristol, Manchester, Nottingham type thing. What are you studying at Edinburgh? [This is turning into an epic comment thread. whoop!]

Re:

I did astrophysics at Edinburgh, now I'm doing a masters at Napier in applied stats...not very exciting, but it might actually be useful! I'm very glad I ended up here though-don't think I could have coped with London (I applied to London, Reading adn Edinburgh originally!)

Long comment threads make me seem popular :O) Anyway, off to lectures...what are you going to be studying?

Astrophysics! Applied Stats!? Eek!
I'm not really your logical sciency type of person, the things I'm going to be studying are more along the lines of English Language, Communications and Philosophy. London seems pretty ideal because I like the anonymity of big cities.

Re:

[identity profile] cheekbones3.livejournal.com 2002-11-06 04:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm-the anonymity is just what I dislike...I like to feel a part of as much as possible, and since one of my biggest pleasures is being known and appreciated, being in a relatively small place gives me more chance of being well known! I'm just an attention junkie :O)

Re:

I never thought about it like that, I'm actually quite a huge attention seeker as well. But my attention seeking behaviour usually gets me in trouble, so it's probably best if there is a capital city for me to hide in, afterwards!
