Handed my dissertation in, and I suppose that could be an excuse for some beer :O)

Well, I'm at wirk right now, and it would take me another 11 hours or so to fly there, so you'll probably not be bored by the time I got there.

And I'd say that handing a dissertation in is an excuse for LOTS o' beer! Congrats!

I've been around England in 1999. I was in Glasgow for a week, last November/December.

I'm afraid to answer that question, lest there's some sort of Glasgow/Edinburh rivalry. :)

Actually, I really like Glasgae. It's gritty, and real, yet there's lots of art and educational institutions. My kind of city. :) Scottish accents I can understand rather easily, but I could not, for the life of me, understand Glaswegian.

Indeed - I do generally struggle to understand the Weegies too, so a non-native will really have problems!

I can understand why you do like Glasgow with thoise criteria, but since I come from somewhere like that in England, I much prefer Edinburgh's much more relaxed atmosphere!
