I'm afraid to answer that question, lest there's some sort of Glasgow/Edinburh rivalry. :)
Actually, I really like Glasgae. It's gritty, and real, yet there's lots of art and educational institutions. My kind of city. :) Scottish accents I can understand rather easily, but I could not, for the life of me, understand Glaswegian.
Indeed - I do generally struggle to understand the Weegies too, so a non-native will really have problems!
I can understand why you do like Glasgow with thoise criteria, but since I come from somewhere like that in England, I much prefer Edinburgh's much more relaxed atmosphere!
