Jan. 4th, 2006 03:16 pmDecided to give the Opera browser a go again instead of Firefox. It certainly looks nice, and it blocks pop-ups, but it doesn't have a user-friendly advert-blocker, and some pop-ups do still sneak through. As for now, I'll see if the benefits outweigh these niggles.
Pathetically short of things to talk about! Had a night off from presenting the quiz last night, but am on duty tomorrow instead. News stories blah blah blah...new tory leader continues to try and outfluff the labour leader. Wonder if we'll get any content at any point?
It's rather cold. It seems that we're getting back to some continental air up this way, and I'm told that the north or the city is utterly fogbound, as it often is in easterly winds. No apparent change for the foreseeable either, so light winds, frost and fog agogo.
And woohoo, a company has told its call-centre staff to stop using a script. With luck the rest of them will too! Mind you, this may mean they have to start employing people with basic conversational skills...not that I want to speak to the buggers anyway.
