Drifting off the main subject a bit, from what I've been reading, would no-one recommend buying a friend a deck of tarot cards for his birthday then? I've found a place that sells lovely looking decks of cards, all colourful, shiny and shimmery. He's into Tarot and already has a deck that he uses but thought a new deck might be a nice present he'd appreciate, now I'm not so sure...
I'd take him to pick the cards with you. The advice on this thread IS conflicting but my opinion is -Buying cards which are actually going to be USED is not like buying someone a tea towel. They have to feel comfortable with the cards.
