Try both - see which works for you. I bought the Thoth tarot a couple of years ago, it sat in my drawer until I followed a hunch and gave it to lanfykins. She's been going ooh and ahh a lot. :)
I generally use the Cat People deck by virtue of long familiarity,(you are allowed to barf now *grins*) but have had some interesting experiences with other people's Dragon Tarot desks.
Ultimately it all comes from you, so it depends which imagery speaks to you more.
