Jan. 6th, 2005 03:10 pmAfter just finishing Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, and inspired by a comment from
random_redhead, for a change I'm going to record all the books I read this year. Might even encourage others to race me or something - I need to read more. I always say that, but there's so much out there and my mind is more fertile than normal right now!
EDIT; Books completed so far:
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance - Robert M. Pirsig 2"
A Short History of Nearly Everything - Bill Bryson 3.5"
Tutankhamun The Exodus Conspiracy - Andrew Collins and Chris Ogilvie-Herald 2.5"
One Hit Wonderland - Tony Hawks 1.5"
Moab is My Washpot - Stephen Fry 1.25"
The Liar - Stephen Fry 1.5"
The Da Vinci Code - Dan Brown 2"
Eric - Terry Pratchett 0.75"
Interesting Times - Terry Pratchett 1"
Thief of Time - Terry Pratchett 1.5"
Eats, Shoots and Leaves - Lynne Truss 0.75"
Making History - Stephen Fry 1.5"
Total 19.75" (12/7/05)

Date: 2005-01-07 01:43 pm (UTC)At uni we use statistica but for some reason for this we have been told to use excel
Done some just hope my tutor thinks what I've done is ok.
When signing up for MSc in Analytical chem I did not realise I would have to do soem much stats - especially as I have done none in the past (did not even do maths at A level - I think they should make all scientists do it!)and work computers are so shit.
Thanks again - you are a darling x

Date: 2005-01-06 07:19 pm (UTC)Hey - any of you who like books and reading should REALLY check out this website: http://bookcrossing.com/home
I have been a member for over a year and really enjoy sharing books through the site. I'm MargeryK there too: http://bookcrossing.com/mybookshelf/MargeryK.
I've been reading lots of non-fiction recently - just finished 'No Logo' by Naiomi Klein and 'Team Rodent' by Carl Hiaasen.
Last year I tried to read 50 books. Didn't quite manage it!

Need to start on the list for 2005!
Anyone else fancy the challenge?!!

Date: 2005-01-07 11:04 am (UTC)Have you seen the film? I really like it too but seem to remember it not making much sense if you haven't read the book. Grr!
Anyway, I shall be putting some of the books I keep picking up and starting to read at work, then getting distracted, in my journal soon :)
