Apr. 6th, 2005 10:43 pmWell, I hope the quiz coped okay without me. With luck I'll be there next week!
Thoughts on Exeter (please feel free to add opinions if you've been there):
It's a pretty city, although it appears to suffer from an extreme paucity of pubs. I only saw about a dozen in my extensive walks around the city centre!
Easy to get lost in, especially with my sense of direction and a glut of grandiose churches to use for landmarks which happen to look the same after dark.
Anyone you ask for directions from will be Spanish (plus ca change...).
Kids there seem less nasty, and appear to ride trials bikes as an alternative to crappy girly-cars with blue down-lights and a bass-bin, which is refreshing.
Numerous bus/taxi drivers appear to be jolly, buxom Westcountry women, who actually smile and talk to you. Makes a change from the miserable buggers I often run into here!
Enough babbling now - I'll see you soon.
