I'd certainly agree with smug, immovable I can't though. I'm very willing to change my views in the face of better learning/arguments, and I'm also very easily persuadable once you get past my initial bluster.

My body language betrays my lack of confidence around people that I don't know - I'm basically shy around new people, probably mainly due to a fear of causing offence, as I am very good at doing with my loud mouth and thoughtlessness.

As for us, yep I'm glad we know eachother and get on well - as for running out of stuff to talk about, that's possible, although if we were in a one-to-one situation, we'd have enough to gossip about just through mutual friends, never mind our own lives and opinions. Thanks for the feedback - it's much appreciated!

I'm trying to work on the smugness - I think I mainly try to counteract it by being very magnanimous when someone else shows their superiority to me, and I also often am interested in learning from such people, which I hope they appreciate above my childish showing off...
