So the old mish closed six years ago, and now the new mish will close next January. I'm an optimist in these cases - something should spring up with luck. I've had some good times in the new place, but it never really replaced the old one for me anyway. Ho hum - onwards and upwards.

Moving house at the end of the week - should be fun, getting fed here by bunnyphone, then hopefully down to theauldhoose to try out the Orkney Skullsplitter, which should be on tap by then. Should also be as lethal as any 8.5% beer would be...with any luck, a mate that I met in Australia will be in town for the protests, so I'll drag her out for a beer too. See you there!

Yeah, I never really got into the new mish tbh - not in the same way as the old.

Skullsplitter is great, if evil. I had a couple of halfs at the CAMRA beer festival and I was away. That said, there's not much of me.

Problems with local residents objecting to any further extension to the late licence, caused mainly by idiot kids at Mission Junior causing trouble in the local area, and lax soundproofing standards in the new flats in the area, contrary to pre-build agreements. This may be cause for legal actions by the club owners apparently...

Skullsplitter - an Orkney that is 8.5%! As for protests, I'm planning to be moving house tomorrow, so that should keep me occupied!
