cheekbones3Well that's the closest I've ever been to a car crash (apart from being in the vehicle anyway). Stood on the island at the Minto Street / East/West Mayfield junction, there'd already been a crash between a bus and a car I think. This meant that the lanes on Minto Street were restricted to one-way on the junction, , and cars coming up were fighting with eachother to get into the lane and to get through the traffic lights.
Unfortunately, the last car coming up the road managed to get into the inside lane to get through the lights after waiting a while and sped through the junction, not noticing that the lights were now red! Cue car coming across the junction, and a perfect splat of the front corners of the car. Lucky for the innocent driver that she wasn't hit in the side, and I watched this happen from about two metres away! It was weird that there was no screeching of brakes anyway - I really don't think anyone noticed until it was too late. Anyway, all people seemed fine, if a little shocked, and the police were on the scene already.
And...relax.
Ooh, first Great Britain appearance in this year's Tri-Nations against the Kiwis! I think we'll get splatted actually, but you never know...as long as we get to the final anyway. And then party at Anna and Jen's :) Should be good!
