More homonym irritation

One I've started noticing more, recently:

Peak: Highest point, apex.
Peek: Look at, maybe furtively.

In other news, my cake is going to be a disaster, as I put too much mix in the one container...

EDIT: Furthermore, tipping the half-cooked, half-blancmange cake mix off the back of the extremely irritating half-shelf into the bottom of the oven won't help either. Here's hoping that the remaining, much-reduced amount of mix will cook okay.

I have a question: My brain says it should be "Bear in mind" but my eyes say that looks silly, while "bare in mind" looks even sillier. Which one is it?
