Jul. 16th, 2006 11:36 amWent to the Mission Retribution last night to discover that ructions have happened (overtly this time), the crap DJs are out (Craig), and there's a choice of rock/metal to listen to! Glad I turned up that night given that it was the first time in over a year that I've done so, and it's the first time in many a year I've got severely mingingly sweaty in there on a Saturday.
They seem to be trying to listen to the customers now (setting up a mailing list and texting service) and sorting out a website for requests and general opinions on the place.
Good decision to cut whatever club had been tacked on upstairs in recent times (I get the impression that the goth bit was struggling and that the one on inbetween weeks never really got sorted out (and the goths have loads of clubs anyway), and now it's just the heavy room where the likes of me can escape to for generally crunching whiplash-inducing metal of many types and ages. I was very pleased. The club gives me the impression now of a similar style to the likes of Rock City and Jilly's with two rooms of different styles of metal, but ostensibly metal, instead of any standard thrash fans being forced to put up with no more than two songs heavier than SOAD or Walk by Pantera. Again. Long may it continue, and I commend the night to you all!
