cheekbones3Well I'm back after an eventful weekend - I'm sure you want to read about it.
Friday night involved travel to Manchester with Edinburgh Mavericks for the inaugural Warriors korfball tournament, impressively staged in the National Cycle Centre - the pitches are in the middle of the track, so we had track cycling and keirin training all day to watch too - those buggers can go quick!
We came fourth in the tournament after losing 1-0 in the semi-final to a scratch team of good players - rather unfair I reckon! The scratch team is supposed to make up the numbers. Anyway, we then went to the fancy dress Christmas do in Fallowfield, me as a fairy, my team-mates as two carrots and a sprout and an elf. The pictures will be impressive.
Before the night was out, I decided for some strange reason to down a half-yard of ale (27s, rubbish I know!), and then fell off a kerb and sprained my ankle...
After that, I limped to Coventry (well, the train) for the assistant statisticians' conference. Fascinating stuff I hear you cry, notable mainly for the lovely hot bath I had and the numerous big meals. Back now, tired, bruised but unbowed. Bring on more Christmas! I only need about ten presents now. Erk.
