So-back in Edinburgh, and feeling vaguely crappy, not to mention damp. Don't know why I feel crappy. Need to make phonecalls...being on the net will not help in that area. Hmmm.
hell, i'd be happy to MOVE there. i love cold weather. i just moved down here from a little over a year in NYC - and it didn't get nearly cold enough. *sigh* i DESPISE hot, humid weeather. luckily i probably have less than a year of it left.....
no, florida! and i lived here before i moved to NYC. i moved to NYC for a job offer, but i didn't make enough being a scientist up there to afford the cost of living. it's unbelievable. so i moved back to florida, where my friends are, so that i could get my life in order. i'm only going to stay here until next summer, where (hopefully) i'll be moving back up north-er to go to law school.
Where did I get California from?! Is NY expensive then? Sounds like London-everything therecosts about 20% higher than in the rest of the country, and it's impossible to get anywhere decent to live unless you're rich. Not that I've ever tried living there-I'm happy up this end of the country-Edinburgh may be relatively expensive, but I can live virtually in the city centre in a nice room and be able to walk/cycle almost anywhere I want to be. Law school eh? Whereabouts? One of my exes ended up going to Harvard to do law...she was bloody good though-utter workaholic! I'm just going back to uni myself to do a masters...can't wait to get out of this office just rubbish!
yeah, NYC is expensive. EVERYTHING costs more - going to the grocery store, one can pay about double what one pays outside of the city.... ....and there, for instance, i paid half of $1650 to share a studio loft (not very exciting) and get to sleep on the floor, because the loft part was used as a bedroom for my roommate. Here, i pay half of $895 to split a 3-bedroom house, in which i not only get my own bedroom (and a bed! woo!) but my own bathroom, as well. I'm thinking about law school up in the DC area, because i think i might like to go into international law of some sort, and that metro area seems to be the right place to go. i've had my bachelors since 1999 and did the scientist thing for a few years; now that i'm in florida i'm just working at a job downtown to pay bills. it gives me free time to focus on...um...my future. yeah. i need to go back to school, lest i lose my mind.
