Me being worried about world events instead of a disconnected blasé feeling of intellectual objectiveness? Whatever next!

In other news, sometimes life just tries to be awkward doesn't it?! Hope no lasting harm was done anyway.

Currently in mad presentation composition mode, and having to read lots about floods and method of predicting them. The floods are interesting, the methods not so. This could be a long sixteen hours until I'm finished! Hope they quiz me on the weather stuff and not on boring mathematical models of flow prediction...

I'm just glad that it's not a group presentation, and I can therefore rely on myself to do as good a job as I want, and not have to trust anyone else.

I do want to learn to trust lots too, although this degree at the moment is not the vehice to use for that mission...

oh wow..sounds rivetting! :P
i may sound like an ignoramas, but what has flooding got to do with it?

Good question! I think it's more to do with practise at presentations as opposed to anything much to do with the subject area...

Hmm, If I remember right, it was heaps and heaps of statistical analysis and methods that formed the foundation of flow modelling and flood predcition. A lot of the equations I used to work with in fluid dynamics had an element of probability involved... mebbe thats how it all ties in with applied stats!

(And yes, I'm sad, I enjoyed fluid dynamics)
