My DVD player is refusing to give me a picture, although the sounds seem fine. I've not done anything to it, and it's not been disconnected or anything. Any ideas what it might be? I can't check whether the SCART cable has died because I don't have a spare.

EDIT: I also want to connect my PS2 to an amplifier, but it only has one non-optical output socket, whereas I have two leads. One appears to be an audio output lead with three jacks, and the other is the standard TV lead. Any advice?

I have a scart cable you could borrow to check if it'd help?

Hopefully it's not just dead given that it wasn't hugely expensive...

Hi - I think I have a SCART cable you can borrow (but it sounds like you've got that sorted anyway.) It took me ages of buggering about with my tv before I realised I needed to press the TV/AV button on the remote, but that was when I was connecting to a computer.

With the PS2, the audio-type lead should have red, white and yellow plugs for right audio channel, left audio channel and video respectively. The video connector lead seems a bit strange but I've used this type to connect my PC and digital camera to TVs before. Dunno how standard it is though, although both my TVs have one.

I guess you'll need one or more extension leads to connect it all up, unless your amp and TV are really close together.
