My DVD player is refusing to give me a picture, although the sounds seem fine. I've not done anything to it, and it's not been disconnected or anything. Any ideas what it might be? I can't check whether the SCART cable has died because I don't have a spare.

EDIT: I also want to connect my PS2 to an amplifier, but it only has one non-optical output socket, whereas I have two leads. One appears to be an audio output lead with three jacks, and the other is the standard TV lead. Any advice?

Hmm, my telly is old and doesn't have any interesting sockets; suppose I'll forget that then!

If your telly has a scart socket then you can get a scart->phono adaptor, with red/white/yellow phono sockets on it. You can plug the yellow one into that to connect to your telly and the red/white ones into the hifi, probably with an extension lead.

No sockets whatsoever apart from the aerial...
